Space on Hold
Terms
This isn't legal advice.
Last updated October 7, 2026. These terms are the contract between you and Space On Hold, LLC for spaceonhold.com and the booking pages on your host.
Space On Hold, LLCPO Box 13, Billings, MO 65610
Christian County, Missouri, United States
The deal
Space on Hold is software for a small space you already run. A guest books a time, pays you a deposit, and sends the files you require. We are not the landlord, not a marketplace, and not a party to the rental.
You pay us for the software. The guest pays you for the space. One room is $59 a month or $590 a year. A few rooms is $99 a month or $990 a year. The property is $149 a month or $1,490 a year. The year is ten times the month. The first subscription includes a 14-day trial. A later change of plan does not start a second trial.
By creating an account, starting a trial, or clicking to subscribe, you agree to these terms and the privacy policy. If you let someone else use the desk, you are responsible for them.
Who can use it
You must be able to enter a contract, generally 18 or older, and you must be allowed to act for the space. Guests do not get accounts. They open the link you give them.
Do not share logins or sign-in codes outside the people who run the space. Do not scrape the service, resell it, or break into another space. Do not upload anything illegal or anything you do not have a right to keep. We can suspend a space that attacks the service or another space.
Your space, your bookings
As between you and Space on Hold, you keep all right, title, and interest in the space, the bookings, guest names, emails, phone numbers, files, photos, house rules, and other data you put in (“Space Data”). You grant Space on Hold a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, and display Space Data only to provide, maintain, and secure the service, and to comply with law. That license ends when the data is deleted, except for residual copies we are required to keep, and except for backups until they age off. We will not sell Space Data. We will not use it to train public AI models.
You are in charge of the guest relationship. That includes the price, the deposit, the house rules, the files you require, and permission to email the guest. Space on Hold is a service provider for the guest data you store.
What this software is not
Space on Hold is booking software. It is not, and you will not treat it as:
- the rental contract between you and a guest;
- a landlord, venue operator, insurer, or security service;
- a bank, money transmitter, or card vault;
- legal, tax, or insurance advice;
- a promise that a guest will arrive, pay, follow the rules, or leave the room as they found it;
- a promise that a door code, a Wi-Fi note, or any other access note is correct; or
- a guaranteed-uptime contract.
Access notes stay off the public page. You decide when a guest can see them.
Trial, plans, and canceling
The first subscription Checkout includes 14 days. Prices on the site at signup are the prices that apply unless we post new prices for a later period. New prices do not rewrite a period you already paid.
You can cancel from billing. The plan stays through the end of the period you already paid. We do not prorate a refund unless the law requires it. Closing the plan does not by itself delete the space. Write us if you want the data erased.
Payments
Your subscription is separate from a guest’s deposit. Stripe charges the subscription. Stripe’s terms apply. We do not store full card numbers.
When card pay is on, a guest’s card charge is created on your connected Stripe account. You pay Stripe’s processing fees. Those fees come out of your payout. Refunds and disputes are on that account. We do not add a booking fee, and we do not store Stripe’s rate. Stripe publishes the current typical US card rate at stripe.com/pricing. Stripe’s terms apply to that charge. You are the one the guest is paying. Chargebacks, refunds, and tax stay with you. Each space has a cancellation policy: no refund, a full card refund, a percentage of the price, or a fixed amount, never more than what was paid by card. You can leave a window off, or use a different refund when the start is at least that far away. Automatic sends that card refund when the guest cancels. A request keeps the time until you approve the policy amount, a full refund, a custom amount, or you decline. When you cancel, you pick the amount, starting from a full card refund. Venmo and cash are not moved from here. If card pay is off, the guest pays you by Venmo or cash, and you record that on the desk. We do not move that money.
Email, not text messages
We email the owner and the guest. Sign-in codes, booking mail, and receipts go by email. Space on Hold does not send text messages. There is no SMS program. A phone number on a booking is optional. We store it for you. We do not give it to a texting company.
What we don’t promise
We don’t promise zero downtime. We don’t replace your insurance, your lawyer, or your accountant. The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent Missouri law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The software, the design, and the Space on Hold name are ours. You may not copy, sell, or lease the product.
If something goes wrong
Our total liability for a claim about Space on Hold is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost bookings, lost profits, a guest dispute, a deposit we did not hold, or a Stripe outage. Some states don’t allow some limits. If Missouri doesn’t allow a limit, that part doesn’t apply, and the rest still does. This cap does not limit liability for fraud or willful misconduct, or liability Missouri law does not let us limit.
You will defend and indemnify Space On Hold, LLC and its people against claims that come from your space, your Space Data, a guest’s visit, the messages you send, or your breaking these terms.
If we learn of a security incident that exposes account or guest data we hold, we will tell an owner on the account without unreasonable delay, and as the law requires. That notice is not a promise that an incident will not happen. Telling guests is your job unless the law requires us to tell them.
Missouri law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and Space on Hold agree that the exclusive venue for a dispute is the state courts in Christian County, Missouri, unless federal law requires a federal court, in which case the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. You consent to personal jurisdiction there.
These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement for the service. If a piece can’t be enforced, the rest stays. We may update these terms. The date at the top changes. Keep using Space on Hold after that and you accept the new terms. A waiver once is not a waiver forever.
