Space on Hold

They ask for a date, and you send them the page.

For a barn, a wedding venue, or an event hall you already rent. People ask for a date, you send them the page, and they pay the deposit to you. The date is confirmed when that deposit is in and the files that room requires are in. The page can be the venue’s website. You pick a name, or you use a domain you already own once the records in settings match.

A barn or the grounds

A barn or the grounds starts as a full day, with a 60-minute gap and a deposit of 50 percent. Hourly and half-day stay off until you turn them on and type a rate. You type the day’s price yourself.

It starts by asking for a certificate of insurance and signed house rules. People can read the rain plan before they pay. You can rewrite the plan, the rules, and the line about how many people the grounds hold. That line is your description of the place.

You can turn the certificate off. A hall on the same account doesn't start with one. Confirmed still means the deposit is in and the files you left on have come in.

An event hall or a banquet room

An event hall or a banquet room starts with a 60-minute gap, a deposit of 50 percent, and hourly booking. Signed house rules start on. A certificate of insurance stays off until you turn it on for this hall.

The gap is held before the booking and after it. That's the time to set the room and to clear it. Someone else can't take those minutes.

Write the vendor rules into the house rules. They sign that text on the booking link: a checkbox, a legal name, and the time. The same account can hold the barn and the hall, up to eight rooms. If one date uses more than one room, you can sell them as one package. One booking holds each room in it.

A tour isn't the date

You can publish a time for someone to walk the grounds. The person who takes it gets that visit. The visit isn't the booking. The wedding date is a separate booking.

You can also place a first hold on a date for 14 days, and a second hold behind it for 7 days. The hold page tells them it becomes a booking when the deposit is in and the required files are in.

When the deposit isn't the whole price, the rest is a balance due before the date. That due date starts at 14 days before, and you can change it. The date can be confirmed while the balance is still open.

There are no booking fees. The owner pays Stripe's processing fee, and it comes out of the owner's payout. Stripe publishes the current typical US card rate. This app does not store that rate. Until card payments are set up, you can write in Venmo, cash, or a check.
